"It's TV, without the TV!"

3:54 "It just needed to be not dog poop, and instead, it looked like regular poop" Is the exact explanation for all kids video players in the 2000s (I love these The Wacky World of ___ videos)

Most people don’t realize but if you were growing up in the 90s and early 2000s like me, this is all we had. We play games on a game boy advance and we would watch DVDs on a portable DVD player. There were no smart phones or iPads or streaming. So we worked with everything we had and we enjoyed what little we had on road trips and on the go.

Correction: Super Robot Monkey Team HyperForce Go! belongs in the Disney category, as it was produced by Disney Television Animation for the Jetix block on Toon Disney (now Disney XD).

I can remember one of my friends from my old mainstream school had a Game Boy Advance Video of Cartoon Network playing on their Nintendo DS Lite back in 2007. It was weird seeing a TV series playing on a GBA cartridge.

Respect that he put the SNES Classic theme in the background. Nice video again!

This video was made for me. I have an odd fondness for GBA Video carts. It may have only been four measly episodes of SpongeBob in 160p, but to eight year old me, it might as well have been the entire series in 4K.

I’ve watched many videos about GBA Video and this is certainly another one I am watching.

This brings me back! I remember my cousin had the special edition of the Cartoon Network video pack. I would nestle myself away in her room and watch Dexter's Lab over and over again.

The state of portable video in 2004 really puts into perspective how massive of a leap the psp was for portable media. The psp launched in late 2004 in Japan and early 2005 in the US and it kind of nailed it on the first try. Not talking about UMD movies necessarily, those were pretty great quality for the time but the fact you could just transfer downloaded shows and movies onto the psp and watch them with a full color backlit screen with very little in the way of perceptible compression artifacts, at the time it was mind blowing and even now, the psp had far more
media features than the switch or even 3DS.

Game consoles have basically moved away from doing much besides gaming which on the one hand is good because games should be the focus but on the other hand, I really liked having a psp back then before I had a smartphone, it could really do just about anything and was actually more advanced than phones of the era, only around the time of the iPhone 3GS/iPhone 4 did smartphones really catch up to it in terms of its broad set of features.

The only thing the psp lacked was a built in camera, you could get the attachment, but the vita did feel like the culmination of everything the psp felt like it was missing, but it came out at a time where everyone had a smartphone and these things felt less novel to people.

I was disappointed that the switch 2 was announced and it doesn’t have any of the cool shit the 3DS had like built in cameras for AR games or just taking casual photos, or something like streetpass which made the 3DS feel like a cool social device that encouraged you to take it with you everywhere.

I remember having a VideoNow and PSP. So I’d like to see you covering their show/movie releases sometime.

It's crazy that the only thing preventing people from playing GBA Video on the GameBoy Player is one 'if'-statement.

Always remember to put this into perspective. We forget how spoiled we are now but phones back in the early 2000’s didn’t have any major entertainment going on. Movies or shows on a phone was crazy talk, before the iPhone hit the scene. Very few had entertainment on the go, much less full blown movies. Wild how much things have changed, now it’s pretty easy to stream or download anything… yet a couple years ago that was just a dream. 🤯💯

They missed such an opportunity by not releasing "Kirby: Right back at ya!" On there, since it was a Nintendo system, and that show was based on a Nintendo property in my opinion

17:47 just a heads up, phones that you are talking about did not come out until around 2007 when the iPhone was released but I do understand where you're coming from

I always Wished South Park, Looney Toons, Beavis and Butt-Head was on GBA Video. Not to mention DBZ not GT, Ren & Stimpy. You forgot to mention "The Mine Song" by LazyTown
