Tom Petty became a Traveling Wilbury mostly by accident, when George Harrison left a guitar at Petty's house!

Their voices, each so unique, added to the music! I'm happy they did this. So quickly, Roy, Tom, and George died. That was part of the remarkable timing of their collaboration.

It doesn’t get better than the Wilburys. They exemplified the definition of a super group! We are lucky to have witnessed their collaborations and benefited from their union. Music is life, love and the pursuit of happiness. ✌️💙😎🎼

Man I loved their first album. I think the thing I remember the most was how Roy Orbison was clearly the best singer in the group. I mean that man’s voice is angelic

I really liked "The Traveling Wilburys." It's really too bad "Roy-Boy" Orbison just uped and died! George, Roy, and Tom,

This album was unique in that almost every song was outstanding. I can't imagine how we have fallen so far and music has descended into the abyss. Miss these guys, alot!

This is BS. There was no “lineup” before they recorded Handle With Care. Tom was the last piece to fall into place, but it all happened in under 24 hours, and none of them thought this was a band until they realized how good Handle With Care was. The point of that recording session was to record a Harrison song that would be a throwaway B-side for a European 12” single from his Cloud Nine album. What they got was deemed too good to throw away, so they decided to record more. Then the band was born. Tom was always a part of it. His inclusion was no more or less random or last-minute than Roy’s inclusion, as he happened to be at the dinner table with Jeff when George asked Jeff if he would help do that B-side the next day.

You said they were going to record “another” song when George went to get his guitar from Tom. But there was nothing before all five of them got together at Bob’s house.

They only had a few years together, but the world was a better place then.

The fact of the matter is his guitar was at Tom Petty's house and Roy Orbison was over having dinner he invited them over h
to Bob Dylan's house in the morning to use his recording equipment they were all standing around in the garage trying to figure out what's the song about George and he looked over in the corner and saw a box and it said Handle With Care at least get the story straight

That's an amazing group!! Such a pity that they only did two albums. RIP to George Harrison, Tom Petty & Roy Orbison. 🙏 🎶🎤🎸🎤🎸🎤🎸🎶
