Dam breach evacuation tabletop exercise

Discussion of what might occur if landslide caused a (hypothetical) breach of Hills Creek Dam above Oakridge, Ore., A catastrophic flood could destroy Oakridge and other Hwy 58 communities, other river dams, and flood much of Eugene-Springfield into the southern Willamette Valley. This program was presented as a preparedness discussion by Ready Friendly and Ready Eugene on Oct 20, 2022, the day of the Great ShakeOut international earthquake drill. The discussion followed the annual election of board members of Friendly Area Neighbors (FAN) neighborhood association in Eugene. Questions were taken to present to the US Army Corps of Engineers in a talk on dam safety Nov. 14, 2022, hosted by River Road Community Organization and NW Ready Eugene.
