Budget 2024: Income Tax Slabs Unchanged | Subscribe to Firstpost

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has retained tax rates for both direct and indirect taxes in the Interim Budget 2024-25. However, Sitharaman announced that the government will withdraw old disputed direct tax demands for a certain period. Outstanding tax demands of up to 25,000 rupees pertaining to the period up to the financial year 2009-10 and up to 10,000 rupees for financial years 2010-11 to 2014-15 will be withdrawn.

Section 80c should be increased upto 4 lacs
More benefits on home loans
Individual benefits for gst
Increase in section 80d
Also remove gst from insurance premiums or provide the insurance from the tax amount paid

Income tax is an intrusive tax and should be abolished. Replace it with a consumption tax only at point of final sale . No income tax supports this tax happily.

Gradually income tax should be abolished and load it on the luxuries and the wealthy segments.

The genuine private sector tax payers die earlier because of more work hours and there is no extra bribe money and pension for them like public sector.

Government must increase the tax base rather than only depending on the salaried class. why wouldn't a rich farmer with acers of land and crores in bank be spared from the tax..This is unfair unethical injustice..
