To be honest, i kinda like the hard insoles and over all shoe. This is because i like to get a nice feel for the road and board, especially when downhill longboarding.

Toe caps are in all skate shoe brands including converse, nike and huf obviously. But which brand started it all with the skate toe cap>

Tried a pair of these on in my local skateshop and they were the most uncomfortable skate shoes i've ever worn, the heels felt like you'd get blisters in like a day

I got a pair of these from the latest Huf drop and they come with an updated gum rubber sole that's noticeably more durable and grippy. Really dig these shoes' feel and their simple aesthetic, but definitely wouldn't pay that $80 retail.

Maybe try the Emerica Romero Laced, it has been out for a while. Since the price is on the cheaper end of shoes it would be good to show people you'll get a real bang for your buck when you cop a pair.

You shoulf try the Prod 9 elites because they're durable, they probably have good board control, and handle high impact so.
