Unprecedented Rainfall Paralyzes Vijayawada: 17,000 Evacuated as Floods Ravage Andhra Pradesh

Vijayawada has been severely impacted by unprecedented rainfall, leading to a flood-like situation across the city. The continuous downpour caused the Budameru Vagu River to overflow, worsening the crisis. In response to the rising water levels, officials discharged 8.56 lakh cusecs of floodwater from the Prakasam Barrage, further escalating the situation. The heavy rains have forced the evacuation of around 17,000 people across Andhra Pradesh as authorities scramble to provide relief and prevent further damage. The city's infrastructure has been brought to a standstill, with life paralyzed as residents cope with the flooding.
