The btc d chart tells the story. 2017 alt season saw it drop from 95% to 35%. 2021 altseason saw it drop from 75% to 40%. 2025 altseason will see it drop from maybe 65% to maybe 45%. In other words we already know it ain't gonna be much compared with the past

It kind of does feel that way. We are not going to get the same type of alt season that we are used to.. this is my third cycle and it definitely is not what I expected. I was very prepared for this cycle... Bought many coins at the bear market bottom And was hoping to capitalize on this when the altcoin season started... But now very disappointed in this cycle. But who knows. Maybe maybe we will see an alt coin season... But like you say, it might not be as powerful as the last few cycles

Not sure if youve seen it, but Ben Cowen shows the eth steps in great detail, showing how this cycle, its playing out exactly like last cycle, only on a longer time frame. Almost identical. The way he shows it, eth hasnt finished bottoming out against btc, yet. It really is worth taking a look.

Well here's the deal. We are up against 2 things. Bitcoin cycle plays out as ordinary. Or bitcoin cycle changes.

Within those 2 things you can have different outcomes for altcoins.

If bitcoin cycle continues as ordinary and btc dominance remains high, we should see bitcoin push a lot higher, and you will be able to exit your altcoins for little to no loss as they will also go up.

If bitcoin cycle changes it either ends early or extends. In the scenario where it extends, we still have plenty of time for an ordinary altcoin season.

The only scenario where you lose money is the scenario where bitcoin cycle is already over and has resulted in a shortened cycle.

2 of those 3 scenarios are bullish. Without knowing what will happen, there is 77% chance for the bulls.

The reason why altcoin season hasn’t started yet is because QE is long delayed by the FED, first we need QT to end, but that’s not enough, we need QE to start, bitcoin dominance will only go down when the money print starts.

One thing that no one ever seems to point out troubles me. We've had what, 3-4 cycles including this one? The alts really were not around (or many of them) for the first cycles. but everyone seems to feel these "cycles" are worth following. I understand that its all we have really, but its not a long history...

The monthly chart on ETH/USD has not closed yet. If it closes above around 2, 086 USD then its support is not broken. March 2025 month close will be crucial.

4 year cycle had nothing ever to do with halving. its been tethered to gloabl liquidity. we have been in QT since 2022 but the pivot is coming and global money supply is surging in background. wait for it. and so happy to see the 4 year cycle narrative is going away and people realize what drives alt season. me i'm buying the fear.

Also, depends what alt coins you are in. We are entering a point that alts with use cases are the ones going up.
