13. SpaceX is the only US provider of astronaut launches to the space station and MUCH cheaper than the Russians.
14. Until Elon sold stock this quarter, he had more than 100% of his net worth tied up in SpaceX and Tesla (because he had borrowed against his stock since he doesn’t receive a salary) so if the companies went bankrupt, Elon would immediately go bankrupt too.
15. Elon built two companies that were EXTREMELY DIFFICULT and painful to build, and the stock market has decided what those companies are worth and that is what makes up Elon’s net worth.

The most absurd thing about Elizabeth Warren and her comments is that Elon could have gone to any country in the world. He could be paying those billions in taxes to some other country.

But he chose to do all of this in the United States.

The least we could do is show a little gratitude.

Warren and her ilk help run the country into the ground. People like Elon won’t let it happen.

I'm about as left as they come, and I find the 'wokeness' of many on the left (and right!) of politics is just ridiculous.
I support Musk to the hilt. He is single-handedly dragging the world into a renewable-based future. Interesting times indeed!

I think people struggle to understand Elon precisely because he is direct, clear, precise, transparent, and honest. We're so used to everyone putting on a spin, acting hypocritically, having hidden agendas, muddying the waters and so forth. You learn to read between the lines with everything you hear. So actually just 'reading the lines' is an atrophied skill. Pretty damning if you think about it.

Senator Karen is a great foil to Elon. Her Facebook campaign purports to be about 'sticking up for the little guy' but the real agenda is raising money and trying to farm votes from stupid, jealous people. Elon genuinely seems to want to solve humanity's two biggest problems as he perceives them. His companies 'do the right thing when no one is looking' as Gali often remarks. Suspicious people can't quite believe he is genuinely good bloke and make up nefarious ulterior motives to justify his behaviour.

Steven, I couldn't agree with you more. I also have so much respect for Elon to come out and say what he felt he had to say. For the life of me I don't understand what drives Senator Karen's dislike for Elon. The idea of the US being ripped off by paying the Russians (Putin and his buddies) a crazy amount of money to lauch people to the Space Station is infuriating.
