For the past maybe 12 years our 73 Ford F600 has been sitting in a shed. It was a grain truck and hauled grain to elevators until 98 when my dad got a larger truck and trailer. After that it just became a bin runner from field to grain bin, my dad would just fill it up with a jug instead of hauling it to a gas station. It had an engine overall around 2005. Shortly after that the two speed axle went out and had to get it towed home. Me and my dad decided it would be a fun project to do since I’m wanting to learn how to work on vehicles. So, we changed the battery, fuel tank was completely dry. So, we took off the breather, put some gas in a bottle, poured some in the carb to see if it would fire. And to our surprise it did! Didn’t even take that long either. Poured a little bit of gas in, siphoned to see if we needed to clean out the tank. gas ran clear, and poured a gallon of gas in. Started right up, after letting it run it started gaining RPM’s and shut it off. So, now we’ll need to adjust the idle, change the oil, and figure out what’s wrong with the two speed axle and it’ll be good to go.
