Lunar New Year marks the first day of the traditional Chinese calendar. One of the ways families celebrate this important holiday is by coming together for a delicious meal.

In this video, Amy Tjiong and her father go shopping in New York's Chinatown for the ingredients they'll use in making their Chinese New Year dinner. Dishes like a whole fish and "longevity" noodles are important traditions for the holiday.

well the normal calendar is based upon the Julian Calendar made by the Romans...why dont we celebrate Italian New Year?
