He talks about his early inspirations to do science, his work as the Vice President for research at the University of Minnesota, The Organic Chemistry Professor who inspired him to do a double major in Chemistry and Mathematics, why Chemistry could be considered the Central Science, Importance of having a dialogue/discussion with non-scientists, doing research in a sustainable way, importance of multidisciplinary and collaborative research, Clean energy and the importance of solar energy research, challenges/obstacles to do research, the crises the planet is facing and the role of the young generation, eLearning, connection between the teacher and the student for student's success, effects of COVID-19 on University Research, importance of solutions that are chemically sustainable, qualities of a good scientist, not being too disappointed by the setbacks, future of his work, tools/means to know the truth, why scientist should be mindful that they exist in a larger society and (from a societal standpoint) why it is important to engage with peers/non-scientists in the large society?

He says, "(as a scientist) you have to be ready to put time, energy and commitment into pushing back the unknown".
