To quote the Great American Philosopher, Al Bundy.
“Don’t try to understand women, women understand women and they hate each other.”

My chance of watching women's basketball went from 5% to 0%

Then NBC shouldn't be shocked when the only ones watching the women's basketball matches are the wives of the players.

Trying to pretend like Clark is not good enough to be in a USA rotation, or would hurt the team in any way is complete delusional fantasy.

Rookies who made USA team that were number 1 pick in draft.
2004 - Diana Taurasi
2008- Candice Parker
2016 - Breanna Stewart

Where was the experience for those rookies. Current Coach is hating on CC.

You just don't get it, mate.
If a tree falls in the woods & no one is around to see/ hear it, did it actually win a gold medal?
It's like women's basketball is doing everything they can to prevent any new viewers or future revenue. They would have been shown first on nightly highlights, now their score will just show up in a lil box on the screen while announcers talk about something else. Pathetic move, imo

My issue is that they put in 42 year old Diana Taurasi and INJURED Chelsea Gray over her. It's unforgivable!

This is a disgrace, she's already won 3 gold medals for USA including MVP last time in FIBA. She is the driving force for not only basketball but for women's sports in the USA, the Olympics is the highest honor hasn't she already deserved this yet? She wanted this and because of people like you she lost it. Her Numbers so for speak for herself, y'all just use this woman to get views to make money but don't even give her justice. You kill women's sports as now they just lost another fan

The US Women’s Gymnastic Team just breathed a sigh of relief. Now the attention will go back 100% on them.

Pressure is not a concern for Caitlin Clark, mate. She relishes it but you wouldn't understand because every big moment frightens you.

If I was NBC, I would be pissed about how much money they lose over this decision.

No, she should be on the team . . . asses in seats

The right call? How the fuck do you have a job.

This move is doubly stupid. First, millions of fans who would have not watched, would have for Caitlin. Plus millions of fans who normally watch, like myself, will now not watch out of disgust. As Jim Brown once said about childish antics, "You stopping money!"

You and "yahoo sports" are out of whack. Let her decide what she can tackle. NOT YOU!!

Diana Taurasi represented the U.S. her rookie season in 2004 Athens. She just had turned 22… Caitlin being left off the team was the dumbest decision in the history of Olympic play.. this was their shot to really start blowing it up and increased the popularity, but they blew it because of hate, jealously and envy…

This not about basketball, it's about growing a dying league. Come one man, you obviously missed some classes in marketing 101.

Awful take there guy!! She’s top 10 right now in WNBA in scoring and assists and by far the biggest draw in sports right now! You and the WNBA are just soooo short sided and blinded by hate, jealousy, pettiness and ignorance! What a loss of an opportunity for women’s professional basketball

Dude you didn’t cite a single stat, like how CC has the rookie game point record in league history, or the best college statistical career, or the fact she’s 22? Buddy is an emotional guy prob loses arguments to his wife on a regular basis

If I was a fly on the wall in that selection committee meeting, they would be saying "We don't want any hype. No distractions. We're a closed knit group that just wants to win and focus on winning."
