Sounds like the same thing to me. Probably where quants differentiate themselves is in extending to look at momentum, sentiment and any other non-fundamental factors that might also affect price.

Whaaat? Of course buffett looks at those factors as well... True, he buys moats but he doesn't buy regardless of price...
