Apparently TLOU was referenced multiple times as an inspiration for the story being a big escort mission. TBH they just went the easy route. Ellie is invincible, won't be seen unless you are, and teleports near you if left behind. And I think those 'shortcuts' to quell player frustration actually hindered the potential of TLOU imo.

Playing this game rn. I hate how modern games have just slapped yellow paint/tape on everything. I've really enjoyed the puzzle solving with no hints, except with the occasional ones the girl gives after 15 minutes of running around lol
