But look at him now, he's the ringmaster of Luofu in Wardance and the way he interacts with everyone is so different, just look at his interaction with Feixiao. I never ever hate Yanqing at all. I always view him as an actual teenager that still grow each day to be better person. Even Feixiao praise him tho at the end of 2.5 main story and want to invite him to Yaoqing territory

I always liked Yanqing. I'm older though, so I could see that his brash arrogance was born out of youth and immaturity. Been there, done that myself. Poor kid was so confident in his skills until he went up against three members of the High Cloud Quintet. I mean, he's a little kid taking on pretty much gods. They're all ridiculously overpowered, legends of the Xianzhou. Dan Heng even mentioned that he handled himself well, he just didn't have the experience and it was an unfair fight.

I'm glad to see him grow and progress. I liked seeing him and Yunli train March 7th and his interactions with Luka were great. He's a good kid.

I don't know if anyone noticed or it's just me, but in the JP version, during the cutscenes, Yanqing's voice somehow became lower than before. Not too low, but enough to show that he has grown a bit since the last time. It was a pretty nice update to the fact that Yanqing also matured in the latest mission.

This is the best video I’ve ever seen about Yanqing in 2.5, it talks nicely about how he was before 2.4 without putting him down or thinking he’s was just an “arrogant brat” with no mention of his real reasons… I’m glad someone finally understands him well

I love when the characters personalities evolve and develop like this. though i did find Yanqing annoying in the past, this quest chain and march's event made me like him more :D

I liked Yanqing from the beginning, though I wished he wasn’t so impulsive and headstrong and could see why some didn’t like him. So it’s been an absolute treasure to watch his development and growth into someone I liked even more. And it’s really nice to see that now there are more positive opinions/comments on him than negative. Thank you for this video!

Humiliation against foes beyond his strength leading to maturity. First it was Jingliu, then it was Blade and the resurrected Imbibitor Lunae, and then followed by Kafka. After learning from Jing Yuan what he truly expects from him Yanqing started to handle challenges with a different approach. First defeating a reflection of himself created by a sword heliobus, later prioritizing Luofu's safety and handling of the Borisin over lesser matters like getting back his sword that was taken from Yunli and even Yunli's rude remarks. He later along with Yunli had to train March in the art of Xianzhou swordsmanship putting him in the position the General was with him which tested his patience. Later on when he hears of Hoolay's escape he placed that as the priority over upholding his title as the Ringmaster going as far as not participating in the Wardance. That was until it's unveiled Hoolay plans on taking the Skysplitter. All of the events before the Wardance you can say culminated with Yanqing unleashing the move that Jingliu defeated Hoolay with thus besting him. I do not know whether Yanqing can unleash it again on his own accord though and whether he knows enough on it for Yunli to replicate or create an own version with her Old Mettle. Being entrusted by Feixiao to handle things he did and held back against Feixiao who had gone berserk he also did. Finally during the Wardance he still upheld his title and while he did beat Luka he gave him the standing ovation he deserves because Luka earned it.

Although I am curious about Yanqing's sword collection. Course he still shows some degree of smugness especially towards Yunli who both see each other as rivals being ace swordsmen of their own respective Xianzhou ship.

I really hope we eventually get a limited 5 star version of him at some point, he definitely has the most interesting character development of anyone in the Xianzhou in my eyes

I just think he is very prideful at the beginning, as the person training directly under the general and as his right hand man. He wants to show that being the disciple of the strongest man he know, he shouldn't lose to anyone else. And honestly I don't think that's a bad trait.

He took a step back after getting humbled by losing to people probably 30x more experienced than him.

It amazed me that he grew even more after the latest patch, very proud of him.

I main Yanqing since one month after the game released (I didn't get him earlier) and after all the hate he recieved I'm annoyed by everyone suddenly liking him after trashtalking him the whole time. He was never annoying or stupid and his low dmg had nothing to do with his character either. He is young and his personality is well portrayed, I like that he is getting more development, hoyo didn't had to pay more attention to him since nobody liked him anyway. I am grateful for that but other than that the ppl who suddenly change their mind annoy me

I wouldn't be surprised if they are setting him up for a limited 5 star version. There have been rumors for a while of various characters having new or different 5 star limited versions in the works. Giving the standard characters limited versions would only make sense if that's the case.
