Chasing the day of the Strongest Tornado in HISTORY - Carbon to Greenfield, Iowa 5/21/2024

Показать описание
On May 21st, the tornado with the highest wind speeds ever recorded crashed to earth and charged into Greenfield, Iowa. Alongside it, just 20 miles away we intercepted its near twin from close range in one of the most intense intercepts of not just the year, but of our lives. The crazy part? We were just 50 miles away from where we tragically watched Minden, Iowa take a hit by an EF3 tornado. This is a documentary of that story alongside @MaxOlsonChasing

I live in Greenfield Iowa, and this video made me tear up. I knew Pat Wiggins, and may her and her husband rest in peace.

Great video! It's crazy that I was a part of this historic day. I ended up getting stuck in between both of these monsters and got videos of both. I didn't get any close up video because I was being indecisive and im a little bit disappointed with the quality but to be fair my brand new Sony a6400 refused to work that day

I'm from canada and don't typically have tornados around here but seeing storm chasing videos like these can only make me hope that everyone who gets hit by a tornado is safe and i salute them to be able to have to deal with weather like this every year.

Also amazing footage, narration and camera positioning. A video like no ever that I have seen regarding tornados. What you do and tell is something I would never be able to do so amazing job.

Rigsby, I love seeing how far you’ve come with your storm chasing and now story telling. It’s absolutely incredible man. First time I saw you was Pilger and now I enjoy when your videos drop every time because I know it will be great stuff. -Caleb

I had a relative who passed away in the Greenfield tornado even though he was in his basement he had passed away. They are no joke. He had a red trailer that was miles away from the house where it was I lived a few county's away and got out of school early just because of the tornado outbreak happening a ef 1 hit nearby our school and we needed to cover. I did not really know the realities but I hope he is having a good time in heaven along with the other 3 people.

This tornado was so close to getting an ef5 rating I think winds were up to 318mph and it struck the town of greenfield

Tornadoes are like beautiful death maidens. That exudes serinity and grace from afar. But causes tragedy in their wake.

It’s surprising that the greenfield tornado wasn’t rated an ef5

Sorry for all the people affected by these terrible things. I've seen others that have lifted the tar off the road and carry away semi trailers. Terrifying.

2013 el Reno that had winds of 295 was rated a F3. Ranking on destruction and not wind speed is absolutely stupid
