15 flutes makes sense for that spindle speed. Still, that feedrate is CRAZY!

Those vices have never worked harder in there life lol

I was taken out of machining in 2000 from an accident.
That feed is faster than our machines' rapids were. I still miss it.

Congratulations Titans, always pushing the parameters.
Boom!!!👍👍💯

We also worked with Heller machines and Kennametall tools.
(automotive suppliers, engine blocks, cylinder heads)

Everything has been pushed to the limit, it's just crazy 🤟

I got it from the horses mouth that the spindle load maxed out at a mere 50%, which is nothing to sneeze at, @ .02" depth of cut. This is nothing short of impressive. I would love to see him put on a clinic of trochodial milling, which is, to my understanding, the fastest way to remove material (I thought plunge roughing was at one time). That would be spectacular. Keep the experiment alive!

Без смазки и ещё плоскость выглядит как зеркало при том что подача была слишком большой, класс👍

🖤❤️💛 Ah, how nice to see that almost everything comes from Germany 🇩🇪

And you're running dry. Respectable flex. 😂😂😂

its even more impressive when you realise they were running the tool the wrong direction...

How about a close up of the flutes after that. Did I see some chipped edges?

Congratulations so impressive!!!! Great job!!!!

This is possible because of the time Heller spent developing the acceleration curves in a world class machine control, don't try this in a lesser machine, without being prepared for the broken bits and pieces.
Most machines have between 5000mm/m and 20000mm/m maximum cutting feed, it's the point at which lag and acceleration rates really stop being controlled by the machine at acceptable accuracy.
The cutting of corners resulting in extra heavy cutting which breaks tools, and scraps parts, the manual will tell you your machines limits.

Machines with fast feedback loops and massive drives, motors, ballscrews and soild castings are built for speed, accuracy and reliability. There's just a huge cost of entry for all of that in one machine.

How does the MMR/$tool compare in this example to a normal setup? Would it do another one? Or change for each part. (not a comfortable proposal for all you aluminum and plastic machinists out there)

And where is the phrase: it's show time?❤

Oh wow, a 0.010" DOC on 1018 going really fast. Someone call guinness.

I wanna see this feed rate on conventional milling!

Are you supposed to go with the turn of the cutting bit or against? I hear going against makes a smoother surface and there less chatter?

I thought the video was sped up at first 🤯
