Have you ever used any of these techniques before? Do you have other tips to change the size of the amigurumi without changing the pattern?

It's cool to see how the amigurumi comes out with the chenille yarn. I experimented also a lot and used the hobbii rainbow 8/8 and 8/6 to compare the sizes of the amigurumi. I made the wolf from picapau and of course the hobbii rainbow 8/8 was bigger as the 8/6 - I also used different hook sizes (3mm vs. 2.5mm). So you can play around with thinner/thicker yarn and different hook sizes to get smaller/bigger amigurumi. You also can do mini amigurumi with lace yarn and the fitting hook. First of all, everytime it comes to amigurumi you go at least one hook size down from the recommended on the label and it also depends on your tension.

Hi Bianca - I have never heard of both end crocheting but will definitely give it a try. I tend to use acrylic yarn for most of my amigurumi regardless of the pattern suggestions. Love the sizing - always a surprise!

Instead of using both ends of yarn (inside pull and outside pull), you can use inside pull and the loop method for doubling the yarn……same result without the tangles and skein spinning.❤

Changing yarn and hook sizes is a my go to. I don't like to crochet with both strands, my yarn always go tangled. I do so only if I don't have 2 skeins of same yarn. Plus its optional to combine different colors together for a very cool effect and ombre color change. My another go to is to separate strand of yarn if I want a smaller size.

Anybody know why your hands hurts after doing shell stitches or flower petals with crochet?
