So cool they went with respecting the tradition and put on those bluegrass suits. Mr. Monroe would approve. And to see Doc’s memory and his music carried forward is an unexpected blessing. Old-timers like me can’t believe the Billy Strings phenomenon is real. Young people loving this great music is too good to be true. Heaven sent!

As soon as that fiddle slid across the strings, I teared up.

As a devout traditional bluegrass fan and musician, I can say with certainty that these guys are doing a great thing for keeping traditional bluegrass music relevant and even revitalized in the public eye. I know some "traditionalists" like to poke at Billy and company for catering to a broader audience and doing some things that draw influence from far outside the spectrum of "bluegrass" in many shows, but in my mind, that is exactly what they should do if they want an opportunity to open up a new generation's hearts and minds to what the genre of bluegrass truly is (it ain't old crow.. or Avett bros, or any of the neo folk bands that are often miscategorized as "bluegrass", folks). What you just heard here is REAL bluegrass, played by young people with a deep respect for the tradition and vocabulary defined by the founders. I love seeing Billy and company come out and straight up REPRESENT! Amen, Hallelujah, and all the people said, "Yes, Lord!" 😆😆

If there was any doubt about the future of our beloved bluegrass music, Billy, Molly, Sam, Bela, Jerry, Greensky, Nickel Creek, put a 'NFW' punctuation mark on that!
