I was one of the carpenters that helped build Nicks Bamboo cottage on that property. Their dad was always working doing something, He would stop by and hang out with us on our lunch break. Down to earth nice guy, he would tell us stories about how it was before his kids hit it big and they were pulled into that lifestyle. You could tell he loved his family and was worried about what this fame was bringing with it. In the brief moments I met Aaron you could feel that same down to earth quality. Even amongst the craziness that surrounded him he was always kindhearted; he loved his family more than anything! Heavon has gained a gentle and loving soul, my prayers to his family and all who loved him.

Can’t believe he found out his parents were getting a divorce this same day yet was still forced to do this, showing off a house he knew wouldn’t exist anymore
My heart breaks for him. RIP Aaron

It’s amazing when you consider two kids paid for all that. Aaron worked all his childhood yet had to start from scratch in adulthood. RIP. He tried hard & always smiled & was a kind, gentle, forgiving, sensitive soul.

Aaron Carter had the same level of fame as Justin Bieber back in the early 00's he was literally everywhere from disney to regular ads I remember as a kid you couldn't go anywhere without seeing him He had a good singing career when he was young until his parents did him wrong sold everything and his life went into a steep decline. This is so sad he didn't deserve this. rest in peace!

I broke down and cried when watching this.. His parents forced him to do this episode of Cribs the day they announced to him that they were divorcing and he was about to lose everything he showed off in that house.

This really hit a nerve for me because I was thrown out of the house I grew up in after my last immediate family died, and I lost some things and also left some things behind out of my own negligence.
I never got over it, even though I had another home to go to and tried to replace what was lost, it never actually replaces anything. I still have nightmares, flashbacks.. There’s nothing I can do about it now.

When Aaron did the interview 2 decades later on how his parents made him do the t.v. show tour the day they told him they were divorcing, and he broke down crying as a 30-year-old man, as though it just happened yesterday, that REALLY hit home for me. Here he was with his own house and his own things and a new life, and it still affected him 20 years later.. There’s a definite trauma that comes with traumatic family change like divorce or death and then getting displaced from your home that DOESN’T GO AWAY. This man was self-medicating because he was in PAIN. Then his father died a few years later and that must have been the cherry on top to finally tip him over the edge.

I am so, so sorry Aaron. I only stopped following you on social media right before your death because it was so hard to see you self-destruct with no sign of stopping in sight, but I now know you were hurting so much, and I wish I could have turned back time for you and made your parents choose your well-being over fame and fortune.. Anything that may have saved you.

I love you and Rest In Peace angel 💐

Crazy how much love he is getting in these comments when a week ago half of yalll wouldn’t have watched it and just considered him a “clown” we should show that love before they are gone forever. Might have made a huge impact on how he lived his life

I just wanted to say that I met Aaron Carter at his show in STL in I think 2014. But he is the kindest person. I met him at the meet & greet and he kissed my cheek & told me he loved me. Felt like we really had a connection. I cried like a baby the moment I walked into the meet & greet room, cuz I had always dreamed about that since I was a little girl. I remember watching him kiss Lizzie McGuire and I wanted that too. Then it really happened on a spur of the moment night later in my life. Shoutout to you Aaron, bless your soul man. I’ll never forget you

His parents really said "we're getting divorced, but you still have to show off the house you're about to lose..." Oh, Aaron. It really took him passing for people to recognize his talent.

He was literal living proof that money doesn’t buy happiness. I believe he never would’ve turned into an addict had he lived a normal childhood with caring parents. This kid was doomed from the start. Never cared much about his music, but I feel bad for him after hearing about his life. He could buy anything he wants, but in the end all he wanted was to be a normal kid with loving parents. Damn shame. RIP

This just breaks my heart. Another lost child star. I'm 37 now, makes me miss being a kid.

They really had him showcase their house, knowing full well he was about to lose all of it. Lovely.

His parents telling him they were getting a divorce this same day but he still had to do this. SAD! His parents exploiting him even worse. 🥺 RIP

When you realize that after this show Aaron's life never got better it makes what he is now so much more tragic. I hope Aaron's family support him before it's too late
