Cover Kraftwerk Autobahn retro-future-sixties-style

Can the classic Kraftwerk track Autobahn be done using only 'analog' instruments?
I wanted to give it a try and here it is. Guitars, bass and drums (these are from a box, but it's the idea that counts).
I have to say I was ready to give up halfway through, after recording the first part and taking ages for it. The second part was recorded in about an hour and is much better I think, probably because I just let go of doing a faithful cover. Anyway, enjoy it for what it is.

Not a shock that this translates so well to summery 60s sounds....Kraftwerk were inspired by the Beach Boys, and Autobahn is the clearest example of that.

You know because of the very surfy sounding guitar you could try a surf beat feel in the drums and a real drummer, but overall really cool.

Very good version my friend. I recognise those drum sunds. I'm sure they come from a keyboard called Yamaha PSS680, 780 or other a like as I used to have a PSS680. Do you do any other Kraftwerk covers? I'm in the middle of doing a version of autobahn track by track as I've done with Neon Lights & others. Not bad, but it might sound better in swing time with this instrumentation. Also, the vocals need to be brought out a bit more.
