There’s also a different, equally bad, saying that I keep hearing nowadays. It goes, “Treat others how they want to be treated.”
On the surface it sounds good, but if you were to abide by it, you’d just be allowing evil people to take advantage of you, and you’d become complacent and useless in thwarting evil, which unfortunately seems to be happening a lot.
You have to make your own ethical judgements, based off of timeless principles, like what’s in the Bible, and then decide how to treat people based off of that.
