Dogs or pets in general will offer unconditional love. Even if you can feed them, they will be by your side. When you're away, they will welcome you home.

Humans will cheat on your spouse, be your friend one day, and then try and kill you the next. They will have ulterior motives.

But a dog won't. They will look at you and go "I still love you"

Its also the way the dog dies. It crawled over to be with John before it died. It was loyal and innocent till the end and just wanted to be with its owner and even though it was dying, was still worried about him. Thats why it was so tragic. And the people responsible deserved what they got.
