CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Trying to break the ice in the Mexican bar, the Three Amigos perform "My Little Buttercup."

FILM DESCRIPTION:
This slapstick farce features Dusty Bottoms (Chevy Chase), Lucky Day (Steve Martin), and Ned Nederlander (Martin Short), as three silent movie cowboy stars who get the axe from their Hollywood studio. Just at that opportune moment, a woman named Carmen (Patrice Martinez) asks them to come to her forgotten little town south of the border and do some work for her, for a tidy sum. The three "stooges" agree, thinking they are going to perform their singing cowboy routine, but instead Carmen wants them to get rid of the nasty El Guapo (Alfonso Arau) who is running roughshod over the good citizens of the town. Not the kind of heroes they appear to be in the movies, they have a difficult time helping out the distressed townsfolk.

The most straight-faced extras in cinema history. This is pure gold.

I don’t know what’s funnier. The musical number they’re performing, or the fact that everyone in the cantina thinks they’re supposed to be these hardened killers.

And this scene was what sparked Martin and Short's friendship for 34 years and still running

My dad sang this when I was born...I’m 11 and he still sings it to this day in the car, store, couch, or heck even the phone, since he works in the oil field I don’t see him a lot. When I hear this song, my daddy singing it or not, I cry of happiness

My mom used to sing this to me and my little brothers all the time when we were little. She passed away a few weeks ago now. I have to continue to sing this and play this in her memory ❤

I was 13 and I was finally allowed to go the the cinema with my mates and no parents. We went to the old Roxy in Parramatta (NSW Australia). The place was packed and the audience roared with laughter at this scene. I look back fondly at that moment as it was infectious and we all had tears streaming down with laughter.
