(ssri+dxm audio+visual) waking up with serotonin syndrome after drinking 2 bottles of cough syrup

DO NOT take any serotonergic drugs while taking any antidepressants. or don't take drugs at all. serotonin syndrome can be fatal and this experience was horrible and dysphoric. I woke up with spinning double vision and a pounding headache after throwing up and passing out. I've never recovered 100% mentally, and especially socially. BE CAREFUL. IF YOURE GONNE BE DUMB AND TAKE DRUGS YOU HAVE TO BE SMART.

Serotonin syndrome was like this but with static phosphenes and orbs everywhere, everything is dark and getting brighter in a flickery way when you open you eyes, and dmt like cevs. The tracers on everything and when you open your eyes is spot on. I get some deliriant like hallucinations too. Worst feeling ever.

took 700 mg when i was on zoloft and went to hell and back. couldnt stand up without passing out and had horrible headache and nausea. this video is actually a pretty good representation of what the trip was like, ofc without the physical feelings

I feel like I may have had very brief and small versions of this when I was a kid. My Mom always gave me a spoonful of cough syrup to fall asleep, and there was one morning I woke up and it felt like the world was pausing and skipping. I went over to pet my cat and it felt like a video had been paused and then repeated a few times. Really scary.

Oh wow ive knowticed that sometimes when im coming off of DXM these dizzy headaches happen to me as well and yeah its a horrible side effect it feels like your head is about to rip in half and the vomiting 🤢 wow that happens too

Seriously, for the love of god, don’t do DXM while on SSRIs. Don’t do MDMA either. If you’re gonna do drugs while on SSRIs, weed is really the safest option.

It says on the bottle to not take it with MAOI inhibitors or SSRIs. There’s a very good reason for that.

Shockingly accurate recreation. This once happened to me after downing two bottles of delsym in a Walmart parking lot at 1AM. (Was a severe low point in my life). Walked home, went to bed and woke up two hours later. Had a sweet, metallic taste in my mouth and was shaking/sweating uncontrollably. Spent the next few hours hyperventilating in front of a box fan chugging water from a gallon jug thinking the entire time that I was going to black out and die.

It was the culmination of almost three months of taking 400-600mg doses every other day. Once I finally realized that continuing to abuse DXM would either kill me or leave me with lasting psychological and neurological damage, I stopped taking it abruptly and subsequently ended up going through the worst withdrawls that I've ever experienced in my life. Couldn't get out of bed for the first few days.


Stay away from DXM and other dissociatives. They have little to no therapeutic value and will suck you into an incredibly dark place. And anyone who tells you that DXM isn't physically addicting is full of shit.

I did dxm a few eeks ago at some point i felt everything start slowing diwn and lights became too bright. I felt my body feel extremely hot and instantly thought about this video and the comment talking about that body feeling and instantly rushed to turn my oc off and lay in bed with lights off luckily i was fine and the rest of the trip was good

I had seretonin syndrome from and SSRI and a weird antidepressent used off label for ADHD. Exactly like this. Everyday became more blurry, shiney, light, and cold until I stopped taking the new med. Seritonin syndrome is fucked.

i got much worse after drinking like 6 or 8 without else. i traveled to kitchen strictly on furniture that if grabbed to, stand there - haha all was same. later after beer it got better, then sleep and ANOTHER NIGHT another DXM. was like 9 years ago, gonna do again think in september. but great visualisation, thanks

dude it made me sleep for a whole day, no one could make me get up, the first few hours i was stumbling around but the second i laid n bed i was sleeping n wouldnt move for shit, but yeah, realistic audio/visuals, but u get SUPER TIRED N TERRIBLE BALANCE/COORDINATION, which was fun, u feel drunk n cant think str8 with those visuals n sounds on top of all that
