This is a video on what my experience is like working as a mechanical design engineer at a robotics tech start-up. If you plan on becoming one, I’m sure you’ll find this video helpful. If not, I’m sure you use products that design engineers worked on, so this would be an insight into what goes on in our minds. Timestamps are as follows:

Yo Tamer, I edited my resume based on your tips and I went from rejections to having a hard time choosing from my offers for an internship lol. I'm also making a portfolio of my projects and applying for a tesla internship next year. I'm also on the path of Design Engineering so you'll be seeing me here often😂 Anyway, just wanted to tell you I appreciate your videos- keep up!

You're really smart bro. I'm at a biotech startup and am so into the grind phase of the curve. I really hope my projects yield those little wins in the future. Really appreciate the content.

Thank you so much for covering this! I recently came across an intern position for a manufacturing start-up, and was curious how start-ups, in general, worked.

Glad you're having fun man, I remember you talking about having to work almost 12 hours a day in Tesla. You should enjoy this relaxed lifestyle!

Hey, Tamer! Thanks for this informative and helpful video. Right now, I'm working at a Web3 data management start-up as a technical writer and someone who writes teaching guides for other web developers, so I was able to relate to majority of your points and experiences. Hope you enjoy it man, and can't wait to watch your next few videos! 🚀

I have watched several of your videos. I love your style and the way you handle your career. I have had a very successful career (in my mid-40s now). I hold a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. I started at a semiconductor materials company for 10 years, but then made my way into Medical Devices and Pharmaceuticals. One of the keys for career development is continuing to build your "personal brand". Make yourself irreplaceable by becoming THE expert at a few specific thing related to your work. Also, build leadership skills so that you can move upward during your career (whether in a technical role or non-technical role).

Just an FYI, I quit alcohol, television, and other "distractions" in the last 4-6 years, which has really accelerated my growth and income. Specifically, I have doubled my income within a 3-year period (2020-2023) by putting myself out there and really going after what I am really worth. I never looked back.

Bottom line: never be afraid to put yourself out there and get what you're worth. You seem like a very smart, likeable person. I am sure you interview well also. I wish you lots of success.

Cheers to all the engineers raking cash while the others are raking trash!!

I love these kind of videos, how are you able to keep doing YouTube while working? I think it would be cool if you made a “day in the life” type video

I'm working as a Mechanical design engineer at Byonyks, who are building affordable Bloodless dialysis APD Machines along with Disposable devices. What you've said is 100% accurate. From initial excitement, to grind, to scale.

Curious.. do you always switch from Windows to Mac? As an engineer, should we stay away from Macs? I own a MacBook Air M1, doesn't run SOLIDWORKS so rip to that. But what are your thoughts?

Also, thanks for making these videos. Pretty inspiring to see a young ME as well, making it work in the big world. Keep it up!
