Q stands for quality. I believe it originates from the quality of inductive electric components. In a bandpass filter it just means frequency over bandwith.

Made an impulse buy for Cubase 12 Artist yesterday. Coming from Bitwig, which was my main for 8 years. Before that, FL for 8 years. Before that, GarageBand and Cakewalk Kinetic.

It looks really intuitive and I hope I get into the flow of it pretty easily.

Excellent! I haven't updated yet. I was under the impression last summer that anyone that had purchased the pro version last year was going to be able to get the free update. Then I saw this November 9th grace period, in December. So, I decided to wait till they fix any bugs.
I've been reading and watching some videos that some people have posted that they either received the free update or purchased one, and they were not able to activate them through the Download Assistant. I don't know how much validity there is to those issues, but I decided to wait anyway?!
That being said, I like the updates they've done in Version 12, so far.... thanks for showing us your favs!

One should also say that the Q is a well defined quantity. Which means that it will be exactly the same on every eq independent from the eq. So if one is satisfied with eq settings and wants to try a different eq with the same settings, one can just copy and paste the value.

I believe that the 'Q' attribute in an EQ stands for 'Quality', and refers to the shape of a particular EQ curve. A high 'Q' gives a really tall shape, and allows you to be more surgical in boosting or cutting at the center frequency. A low 'Q' is more gentle -- more of a 'hill' shape. Do I win that watch? 😛

But seriously.... I also wanted to say... I saw the 'heart' video a few days ago. As a survivor of V-fib (almost 25 years ago)... I have learned a bit about heart issues (and fixes) like A-fib. God bless you as you go through your procedure (an ablation, I presume?)... and God guide the surgeons, doctors, nurses helping you!

Hi I enjoy all your videos and I wanted to ask a simple question please. What Monitor/TV are you using. I have two Samsung 4k Monitors and to be honest I am not happy. Some VST's dont open correctly and then vanish. Anyway I hope that you keep making these videos. Regards

I commented on another video, but is there any way to setup beat repeat/note repeat on the machine mk3 for Cubase 12 pro? I miss that my Akai mpd226 could easily do beat repeat (it was automatically mapped and I didn't need to do anything) but I can't for the life of me get it working on the maschine and Cubase

Good evening, is there a method please to separate general listening "stereo out" and listening to the media bay? in other words I want to route the sound of the media bay separately in another audio track? I heard that it is feasible from the "control room" but it seems very complicated for a beginner A video explaining the procedure would be great
