It doesn't make any sense for Sadie Sink to play a non-powered character that is a love interest for Peter. The whole reason he didn't talk to MJ was to keep her safe. Why would he then go and get in a relationship with another person and run into the same predicament? If he was going to do that, he might as well just go hang out with MJ again. I'm in for Firestar though!

IF they were going to pivot from Zendaya's Michelle Jones Watson being the MCU's MJ, the time to do it would have been after Homecoming, similar to the recastings of Rhoadey and Bruce Banner. To commit to having THIS character being your universe's MJ over the course of three movies, to have her go through an entire character arc, only to then turn around and do a redhead Mary Jane MJ is just the worst of both worlds. It completely undercuts the romantic arc of the proceeding three movies, it would be a slap in the face to all the fans that were willing to give your alternative MJ a try and put in the emotional investment of following this new MJ's arc across three films, and an utter capitulation to the mouth breathing, knuckle dragging absolute twats who somehow only seemed to cry "ThAt'S nOt HoW tHeY dId It In ThE cOmIcS!!!" when it came to casting a PoC.

They ended the last movie with zendaya not knowing peter, so why would they bring her back. I think it was clearly and ending for their characters, zendaya is in a lot of stuff and might not wanna come back
