Iris fluorescein angiography (IFA) is a technique for the objective assessment of morphology and dynamics of iris vessels and for evaluation of qualitative and quantitative damage to the iris induced by systemic and local diseases. Pathologies that include iris vessel abnormalities are diabetes, occlusive ocular vessels, uveitis, intraocular hypertension, tumors and degenerative alterations of the uveal tract. IFA can be used to complement fluorescein angiography of retinal vessels in models for these diseases.
