Показать описание
Come Holy Spirit Heavenly Dove - Song Lyrics with Orchestral backing music.
LYRICS:
Come, Holy Spirit, Heavenly Dove(Maxim)
Text:Isaac Watts
Music:Abraham Maxim
Tune:Turner
Come, Holy Spirit, heav'nly Dove,
With all thy quickening powers;
Kindle a flame of sacred love,
Kindle a flame of sacred love, (S)
In these cold hearts of ours,
In these cold hearts of ours, (B)
Kindle a flame of sacred love,
In these cold hearts of ours.
Look how we grovel here below,
Fond of these earthly toys;
Our souls, how heavily they go,
Our souls, how heavily they go, (S)
To reach eternal joys.
To reach eternal joys. (B)
Our souls, how heavily they go,
To reach eternal joys.
In vain we tune our formal songs,
In vain we strive to rise;
Hosannas languish on our tongues,
Hosannas languish on our tongues, (S)
And our devotion dies;
And our devotion dies; (B)
Hosannas languish on our tongues,
And our devotion dies.
Father, and shall we ever live
At this poor dying rate,
Our love so faint, so cold to thee,
Our love so faint, so cold to thee, (S)
And thine to us so great?
And thine to us so great? (B)
Our love so faint, so cold to thee,
And thine to us so great?
FOR SINGERS: where possible, these recordings are mostly formatted as follows:
Centre: Soprano (violin/piccolo/flute/cello), Bass (Acoustic Bass/Contrabass)
Right 100% Alto (clarinet), Left 100% Tenor (oboe/tuba/trombone)
The lyrics display is formatted like the sort of projection you might see in a church, thus I hope, making them useful in a worship setting, perhaps also for choir practice as most of the arrangements are based on the SATB model.
The SONG VERSIONS used are the original or traditional versions of the song. However, in some cases, I may have also provided variant versions with different tunes, standard / full verses or different instrumentation, this is to reflect the requirements of different denominations or traditions.
To the best of my knowledge the lyrics and tunes used are public domain, my music performance of the tune (sound recording) is copyright© Rod Smith all rights reserved, but permission is granted for non-commercial, worship and individual education purposes. This does NOT include posting to other YouTube channels without specific permission, please email BEFORE posting. Copyright and author information including the CCLI song number (where available) are provided on the first screen of the video.
UPDATES & CORRECTIONS: please let know of any problem or deficiency with a song or music, and I will try and provide a new corrected version.
Thanks Rod
