You led me to the Plano cases. When we built our house in 2019, and I finally gained a basement - I attached my cases on the wall. Quite by accident, I discovered the angled mounting characteristic. Did have to mount a 1x1 board along the bottom of the first case. Then each ascending case self adjusts. Watching your videos has changed my collection philosophy. I'm age 64, so was there at the beginning of the Redline era. (Have non of my childhood collection.) Originally, I intended to restore rough cars. Now prefer to purchase those in a bit better condition and leave them as is. Of course buying mint originals is cost prohibitive.

Love the old cars and just sitting in the room with you. Love the knowledge and friendship gain. Wanted to do this in the late 80s early 90s but everyone hated on my for liking hotwheels. So quit for 15 years now back at it.

I recently found an A-Team GMC van from Ertl at Value Village. It's play-worn but there aren't any large bare patches, the red stripe and logo stickers on the sides are still there, and the pushbar at the front and the wing at the top are still attached and unbroken.

It pairs well with the Greenlight Hollywood Walmart Canada re-release A-Team 1983 GMC Vandura van I recently bought in terms of "vintage low-end toy" and " modern (relatively) high-end adult collectible" versions of the same vehicle. (I also have the Hot Wheels Retro Entertainment version from almost a decade ago.)

Great video. Kind of makes me appreciate my play-worn cars more, even the ones that weren't mine.

I think I only have a couple mint Ertl's, one's the General Lee and the other is Roscoe's patrol car. I've actually been sorting some of my diecast recently, and there's another General Lee (I have three or four Ertl Lees in my collection) that actually has a rather nicely done red paint job.

I'll be the first to admit that I did smash up a lot of my cars as a kid before I decided to only do it to duplicates, and then I stopped altogether. There was a transitional period when I was 10 or 11 when I actually gained an interest in keeping my cars mint, which has continued to this day.

Love the "forest find" Chevy. I've only had that happen to me twice in my whole life. One time was finding a Maisto Ford Escort cop car in the Pigeon River, and the other was finding a Hot Wheels Ooz Coupe in my own front yard! I didn't even bury it. Funnily enough, it was a dupe of a car I already had! For whatever reason, I had a moment of clarity and didn't smash that dupe, and I still have both cars (the two Coupes *and* the Escort) to this day.

That 55 chev Nomad Wagon would look pretty great in the junkyard with it being all twisted up and smashed
