Crows have definitely learned that water makes hard food softer. I’ve seen them put food in water in the “wild” (I live in a city and they’re all around). They really are awesome.

We’ve been feeding the neighborhood crows for a year and they’re so funny to watch. They’ve brought us a few gifts but the incredible thing they’ve done.. the pool Polaris was broken and my bf went to diagnose it and noticed a bolt was missing. The same bolt our crows found and left as a “gift” on the back door mat. ❤

My mom feeds leftovers to crows in our garden everyday. They keep them damn pigeons and squirrels out of her garden. They are smart birds 😅

In Australia crows are blue black but you will see them grab food and then go dip it in a gutter if it’s rained. Sometimes you will see them take food to a bird bath.

Surprised nobody has said this, but she's not trying to thaw it, she's trying to make it soft by soaking it, like you would for stale bread. That's why she thinks a single dip will be enough.
