Unkown character
studio known for Horror flicks and Friday
Comic movies were dead

Snipes put the MCU on his back.

And this movie still holds up. Bonafide classic

I don’t care want anybody says this movie will forever be a classic that is 💯 times better than any other marvel out there. No matter what critics say real marvel & blade fans know the truth that this movie is a blemish on marvel and Disney because they don’t know how to recreate the magic in blade which there are trying to pull of in there marvel movies today

Blade: He makes the weapons... I use them. 😎😎
I hope Wesley Snipes's Blade will return in MCU's multiverse saga.

25 years old and this is how to do a solid, dark and gothic noir grown up comic book movie

The 90s had the genre slowly dwindling away yet ‘Blade’ managed to save it from slipping into laughable fashion and Marvel filing for bankruptcy
The movie made $131.2 million and this ultimately put Wesley Snipes on the map
It’s also what got the ball rolling for comic book films like ‘Iron Man’ and ‘Dark Knight’ showing this material could be taken seriously
Directed by Stephen Norrington, written by David S. Goyer, and based on the Marvel comics character of the same name that originated in the 1970s by Marc Wolfman and Gene Colan, a product of the time originally but the character got better later on
A flashback in 1967 shows a woman giving birth to a baby but it’s taken away
Cut to present day that baby has grown up into a half-human, half-vampire named Blade
He has all the strengths none of the weaknesses but has to take a specialized serum to control his bloodlust
To the vampire underworld he’s known as the Daywalker taking out bloodsuckers that prefer to feed on humans
Deacon Frost in particular wants to overrun them but the politicians keep hindering him
Frost plans to infect the whole human race using a bible translation with the powers of the god La Magra
Meanwhile Blade saves Dr. Karen Jensen who ends up getting bit
This helps Blade’s arc opening a more sensitive side to him but treating him like a samurai
The film is dark, edgy, puts a hip spin on the vampire mythology, and technically was the first superhero movie to have an African American lead pre-‘Black Panther’
I never actually heard of the character in Marvel comics but I did see him guest star in the 90s spider man cartoon
They even did a short lived tv series
Snipes is excellent, Kris Kristofferson makes for a great Whistler making the weapons and being a surrogate father, I even like N' Bushe Wright not being the typical love interest as she actually gets to be proactive as a hematologist
Stephen Dorff is perfect as the villain Deacon Frost; he and Blade are direct parallels to each other being outcasts in the vampire society
It was quite surprising given the twist that comes later too with everything coming full circle
The visual aesthetic is beautiful being a mix of downtown Los Angeles being dingy while also being upscale and futuristic
The cold blue tone matches the world unseen by human eyes
So despite some liberties with the source material, being very 90s, some of the writing being less than perfect, and the last 10 min dragging on the movie is bloody, violent, action-packed but slick enough to please fans and comic readers
Without ‘Blade’’s influence we would not have the massive empire of the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Now that's how it should've looked on 5k blu ray it still looks like it's on DVD but more colorful and HD unless they're gonna come out with a 4k 25th anniversary rerelease which would've been nice..and blade II with an all new 4k transfer and I could care less about blade trinity..I hope the reboot doesn't suck

This movie has great worldbuilding. Besides Blade's "90s cool guy" fashion sense, nothing here is remotely real world 90s

When i go to the cinema anf next i buy the DVD, on DVD this trailer is released as "Theatrical Trailer". The other and the most famous trailer (with "Confusion" track) is realeased under the name of "Teaser Trailer".
Too bad because this trailer is better.
