I feel you. In the beginning, I was so annoyed I had to change all my videos to the vertical aspect ratio, zoom in, and all that, but the more I did it, the more I slowly enjoyed making Reels. It took me some time to learn and to even become good at it, but now most reels reach thousands of new people (And I do not have a big following at all) so Reels are great for cold leads and getting your name out there. I still prefer Youtube for actually building a community and more in-depth stuff

I was late to the IG game and created an account back in 2017, and as an artist I find it so hard to compete with the millions of talented artists out there that create reels and promote their artwork. I've been sticking to photo posts and the occasional video, but learning that reels can help increase my number of followers has given me a better understanding of why they're so popular.
