I swam in high school and my best 100m time ever was 58 seconds. These guys swim 56s 100's for 1500 meters. Wow.

I'm mind blown 1500m without stopping and keeping the same pace that's one of the most impressive thing I've ever seen in my life respect

I like how both Sun Yang's 1500-meter world record swim in the 2012 Olympics and Bobby Finke's 1500-meter world record swim in the 2024 Olympics both occurred on August 4.

That's crazy mentally to do that after false starting.

dont get why people comment on him crying, its just an emotion, nothing negative, just some people smile a lot.

2012 : Sun Yang smashes world record
2020 : Sun Yang smashes his blood sample and gets banned for 8 years

I get annoyed when the commentators immediately state "that's a disqualification". They should wait until there is official disqualification before saying it.

I think I would be tired if I walked 1500m. Great job, great olympian.

2023, with the rise of the great young Tunisian Ahmed Hafnaoui and despite all the haters, Sun's record still stands and celebrates its 11th anniversary

This, to me, is the ultimate in difficulty.  Distance swimming.

He lost alot of energy with the first mistaken dive yet he still wins! Amazing.

I have watched this so many times especially during moments in my life when I am close to giving up. And each time the video ends, my tears well up too.

Sun Yang's kick only started towards the end but he was like a torpedo in the final 100m.

Sheer poetry.
NOTICE: He is not fighting harder/thrashing through the water more than the other swimmer.
He is measured, and paced, taking longer, smoother strokes, with less splash on entry than the others.
He is using a 2-beat kick almost all the way through.

Reducing resistance = more velocity than propulsion alone. Streamlining folks!

He was the first to jump down and the first to return.
(他是第一個跳下去的,也是第一個回來的。)

This man swims 16 km a day when training. How many people here walk 5 km a day?

and now, he is the king of 200M in Rio~~

Who's here after Paltrinieri threatened Yang's mark at Worlds 2022? And Yang's final 50 is still the most impressive final 50 to any swim event I've ever seen.

This guy swam the 400m and the 1500m...ARE YOU KIDDING ME? How many swimmers can compete in both a medium AND long-distance race...and STILL smash BOTH records?!

Incredible !!! This guy just proved he is not human. The 1500m is one of the hardest events to win in all of sports and yet he owns it like it's his. Sure enough with two world records. I'd like to see him repeat success like this in Rio . Amazing job Sun Yang !!
