What The Bible Says About Calling Upon the Lord

Missionary Evangelist Robert Breaker talks about WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS about calling upon the Lord, and how today, many completely misunderstand this simple Bible truth!

Please go to his channel and leave your testimony of salvation if you were saved by my ministry. He thinks that salvation is through another way. How sad!
Here was my response to him and his message, as something tells me he'll probably delete my comment on his video. So, I leave it here...

Don Nesbitt, I count it all joy that you are mentioning me on youtube! However, it appears you're up to your old tricks again! You're twisting and perverting my words! You're calling me "demon possessed, " "stupid, " and "pathetic" and LYING in saying I'm a "Calvinist" when I'm not. How sad. Good thing I love criticism, though, so I'll be the first to say THANKS SO MUCH FOR THAT!!! I would, however, encourage you to do so without the attitude, and the lying and twisting of my words. Also, you need to realize what you are doing. You're attacking a man for simply pointing people to JESUS CHRIST and him CRUCIFIED, and salvation by TRUSTING in what Jesus did for them. How could you claim to be a Christian, and then attack a man for preaching that? Isn't that what THE DEVIL does? So, who's side are you on?
Now, it sounds like to me that you hear what you want to hear and disregard the rest. I only spoke about what I see ALL OVER so-called Christianity today. In many "religious denominations" they DO TAKE Rom. 10:13 OUT OF CONTEXT and preach salvation by one's DOING SOMETHING, in place of FAITH in the true Gospel of what JESUS DID according to 1 Cor. 15:1-4, Rom. 3:25, Rom. 5:9-11, etc. They trick people into thinking they are saved by ONLY REPEATING A PRAYER, rather than "REPENTING." (i.e. change of mind and change from trusting their own righteousness to trusting alone in the shed blood and righteousness of Jesus Christ).
They base salvation upon an ACT of their DOING SOMETHING VOCALLY, rather than what the Bible says salvation is, which is RECEIVING Jesus Christ as your Saviour by FAITH FROM THE HEART in his blood atonement. I believe I did an excellent job of showing the difference of just coming to God with your MOUTH ONLY vs coming to GOD by BELIEVING ON HIM from your HEART and being saved!
It sounds like to me that you are hung up on "calling" with the MOUTH ONLY. Why do you have such an "oral fixation" like your great, great, great, great grandmother Eve? Also, are you a Universalist Unitarian? That's how you come across. You leave out the blood and FAITH IN THE BLOOD (Rom. 3:25). Why do you leave out the Blood? Haven't you read Hebrews 10:29?
You claim I go outside of Paul? Um, I did go to Matthew 13:15, which indeed were Jesus' words. But, did you know PAUL quotes that in Acts 28:27?
You then go to Luke 18, and try to make that Publican saved like we are today? That's laughable. That's BEFORE THE CROSS! You know that! Shame on you! You should know your Bible if you've studied under Ruckman like I did. The book of Acts is a TRANSITIONAL BOOK! We clearly see the transition from Acts 2:38 to Acts 13:38-39 and Acts 16:30, 31. Salvation is by BELIEVING TODAY. Not by water baptism, not by you DOING or SAYING something. Sure, you can say or pray when you GET SAVED, but it's NOT the prayer itself or words that you say that save you. It's when you are BELIEVING (TRUSTING) in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That's when you are saved! Period.
Now, what I see EVERYDAY is people being told in "religious denominations" to just "call with their MOUTHS ONLY" on God and ASK Him to save them. But, they aren't taking the Sinner to the foot of the cross. They aren't showing them "CHRIST CRUCIFIED" for them on their behalf. They aren't showing them the BLOOD-STAINED SAVIOUR. So, where's the preaching of the Gospel? Where's the blood? Where's faith? Where's FAITH IN THE BLOOD??? They leave all that out! And, because of that, there are many LOST people out there who have indeed "CALLED" with their mouths ONLY, but haven't believed from their HEARTS in the finished work of Christ (his shed blood). This is sad, but it happens all the time. You must be blind if you haven't see this with the whole "1, 2, 3, Repeat after me" crowd which is so rampant out there today!

You claim to like Ruckman. I went to Ruckman's school, and Ruckman pointed all this out to us in class. He even wrote about this in a letter to my Dad, and how a person can indeed "call with their MOUTH ONLY" and still not be saved, and how then it's up to God to later bring them the Gospel so they can hear it and believe it and get saved. He called that "cashing in." Because he saw that a person could ASK for salvation VOCALLY, but not have heard or understood the Gospel, and so they still aren't believing in the blood for salvation. He said that God then needed to send a preacher to them to preach the gospel, so they could get saved by FAITH in it.

That's why I had to leave Ruckman's church. I saw the bloodless gospel getting in there. Also, Ruckman's letter to my Dad is on there as well, and you'll see Ruckman's words on it. Ruckman said it clearly:

"If you are saved, you know that the only way to heaven is the substitutionary blood atonement of Jesus Christ. If you don't know that, it's because you are lost."

Listening to your video, it sounds like you are making salvation by FAITH PLUS WORKS!!! Hmmmm. Is that why you are so against the true plan of salvation? Is that why are against me, for preaching salvation by FAITH alone in what JESUS DID FOR US? Hmmmm.

Well, I get emails, phone calls, and letters from people ALL THE TIME who tell me they've "called upon the Lord every night for years FROM THE MOUTH ONLY" asking God to save them. But, they weren't saved. They tell me it wasn't till they heard me preaching the GOSPEL of salvation that they finally understood and believed. So, I think God for that, and for their salvation. They misunderstood "calling." They called the wrong with WITHOUT FAITH. And, they were lost. But later they "called the right way" by BELIEVING and now they are saved! I'm so glad for that! And, if you are a saved man, you should be too!

Now, you went to:

Mat 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
Mat 7:8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Mat 7:9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
Mat 7:10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
Mat 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

Are you so yet without understanding? That's NOT salvation for today. Look at the context. Clearly, it's "a SON" ASKING something from a "FATHER." IF you are NOT saved, then God is NOT your Father yet. Duh! So, why would YOU twist that out of context??? You're trying to make salvation based upon what a person DOES or SAYS. Why aren't you pointing out what the Bible says, which is TRUST, BELIEVE, put FAITH in what JESUS DID FOR YOU? Believing is receiving! You should know that!

I struggled to understand what happened different when I was saved a few years ago . I grew up saying the prayers but no change ever happened . It wasn't until many years later after suffering very hard trials I started seeking god and realizing for real that this world is full of liars and evilness. I saw the only one giving the truth is God .it was like a light went off . " I ruined my own life trusting in this world and not God " . He actually saved my life within a year . I was only 115 pounds at 6ft 1 . I'm all better now and just can't get over how great my savior is and endlessly thankful there are no words . World is so messed up ! Yes pastor. I was one who believed I was saved thru the sinners prayer and for decades I kept say lord save me. I didn’t have metanoia. It wasn’t until 6 yrs ago I repented and went to the Lord to truly forgive me. I still stumbled. I finally watched a video from pastor breaker about how to make sure. There are 2 videos he preaches on. I know now that it is NOT the prayer. It is the faith and belief in Jesus Christ. I praise God that this pastor helped me. I also called him and he helped with a baptism question ty pastor. I’m clear now.

Brother Breaker, I had attended church for 56 years and never been told where the gospel is in the Bible. And I have attended Christian, Baptist, Non-denominational, etc. Finally, a very great preacher and teacher like you showed me that it is in 1 COR 15: 1-4. Praise God! I am so happy that I know that I am saved by what believing, trusting and having faith in what Jesus did for us on the cross ✝️ and His precious blood atonement for our sins. It seems like so many other preachers don't want to offend anyone by talking about the blood of Jesus or they don't even understand the gospel themselves. Anyway, I love how you dumb it down for a layperson like me so that I can hear the gospel, understand, believe and be saved. Today, all of a sudden I felt really sick..was tearing for the effort, and pushes from inside my stomac..
I felt an aggression as everything happened so suddenly and called on Jesus of Nazareth 3 times..slowly the bad stopped. Yes I called Him, yes He replied effectively, and yes I have my ups and down even after being saved, and yes He is going on walking st my side, so no, I cant feel lost anymore even 8f everyone from my oast left me. When He is with us and in us, we dont really need anyone else!

Yes and amen! I really appreciate how you explained the beggars gospel compared to the blood stained gospel of Jesus. The former sees his need for salvation but trusts only in his pleas for mercy believing if he’s sincere enough he’ll be pitied and forgiven. So, it’s about himself. But the latter sees his need for salvation and believes from the heart that Jesus bore his sin, shed his blood and died for him so that he can receive mercy and complete forgiveness. The true gospel is all about Jesus!
