dough

1 cup warm milk
2 t. active dry yeast
or fast acting
1 t. sugar
3 oz. melted butter
1/3 cup sugar
1 T. vanilla
4 egg yolks
3 to 4 1/2 cups all purpose flour , keep a soft dough,
1/4 t. Salt

filling
3/4 stick melted butter
2 cups brown sugar
cinnamon

icing
2 cups Confectioners sugar
1 T. butter
milk or cream enough to make icing smooth and spreadable

A tip that I have been using for 40 years or more is to not use a knife to cut your roll circles but to take a piece of dental floss slide it under the cinnamon roll log and using both sides of the floss, pull each side to the opposite side so that it cleanly cuts the dough into circles. You can also use dental floss to cut a cake with no messy knife. I have been making homemade cinnamon rolls since 1965.

My mother worked in the high School lunchroom for our whole family of 11 kids. When I was going to high school along with some brothers and sisters they had a morning breakfast. In that morning breakfast they offered cinnamon rolls and they were massive! Your cinnamon rolls remind me of that time in my life that I took for granted. A time when there was very little to worry about and good food was always around me. Today, watching your video I get a little sense of peace and comfort. My mom is still around and so is my dad and she'll be 83 this year I think, not 100% sure. God bless you ma'am for all your service and all your work. Oh my goodness, I made these cinnamon rolls today and they were melt in your mouth!! The dough is pillowy soft (how it felt when I was kneading it)!! This is my forever cinnamon roll recipe❤❤

I just made this wonderful recipe, and they turned out delicious. The dough is so tender and light that you only need a little drizzle of your favorite frosting, so the sweet dough is the main attraction. I'm not typically a Baker, so my son came out of his room (shocker) and followed his nose to the kitchen, and we had a nice moment together eating the cinnamon rolls.

Oh, my! Those look delicious. Reminds me of when my kids were in school and they loved days when they had chili at for lunch because the lunch ladies always had huge cinnamon rolls for dessert. The lunches have changed over time and sadly there are no more cinnamon rolls at school. But they live on in many happy memories.
