I have scoured all over YouTube to find reviews of this year and model, and this is the best one out there. Well done!

I have a 14 SE with the powershift. Having driven manuals all my life, I have had no issues with the way the powershift sometimes shifts harshly. I find the problem with the dual clutch is the way it was marketed to American customers. Salesmen where selling the powershift as an "automatic" when it is not, it is an automated manual. It is an inherent part of the design of a dry dct for there to be some jerkyness when moving off from a stop or driving at very low speeds, same sort of thing that is usual with traditional manuals. Customers where told they where getting an automatic, which for Americans means the tried and true hydromatic design, these customers experienced harsh shifts and lost faith in the reliability of the car. Ford could have done a better job informing customers as to the expectations of a dry dct. I also find it unfair to compare the powershift to the VW DSG6, the DSG is a wet clutch design, which removes a lot of the moving off harshness experienced in dry clutch designs, but also requires specialized equipment to service at every 40k miles. Dry dct does not require maintenance until 100k miles.

great review! I bought a 2017 focus SEL hatchback in Kona Blue, about three months ago and I truly love it! the DCT is a bit quirky, but as I drive it I have become used to the way it functions so it's not an issue. For the money it's best blend of equipment/tech and safety in it's class, in my opinion. For myself as a single father of two, it works great for us as a daily driver and is comfy enough for long trips as well.

I had a 2000 Focus ZTS, first year model, but bought it on dealer lot in 2001. At that time it was a $15, 000 car, very expensive, but had leather seats, special engine, and side air bags in the seats! Wonderful car, kept it for over ten years, had 160, 000 miles on it, and gave it away to a friend, when I purchased a 2010 Mercury Grand Marquis from Enterprise Car Sales.Boy what a difference, but loved my Focus a lot! Thanks Autovlog for the review.

Bought 1 liter Eco boost 125hp last September. My baby has "6 speed manual" fellas. I'm really enjoying my Focus. Color titanium gray. looks great, handles great, feels great.

I think the Focus is just gorgeous. DCT problems kept me from buying it. Instead, went for a Kia Rio, which has given me zero issues in 5 years of ownership. I’m still open to own a Focus, when a new generation comes up. I would choose the manual transmission though.
Very good, honest review.

I have a 2016 Focus and I love it (besides the DCT characteristics) great fuel milage on the hwy and its easy to park in the city, it will be a sad day when I have to get rid of it as a recall was recently issues on the 2016 focus TCM. Oh ford motor company you have the best looking hatchback, why can you build a transmission to match it????

This is the car I build at my factory. It's good to see you review it. You made an honest review, that isn't a love fest, or a hate video. Just an honest opinion.

I’m not a Ford guy, but back in 2017 my neighbor bought a brand new 2017 Ford focus hatch SEL trim. It’s a beautiful, dark blue metallic chip paint and everything else is just like the one in the video. I absolutely love the look of the car. The styling is done very well and the interior feels pretty decent although I’m not a huge fan of the cloth material. Other than that it’s pretty cute car and rather comfortable! I’ve looked at several other vehicles from ford and other manufactures and this is my favorite of recent ish cars. Honestly, the only newish car that I actually like. Well not the only but more of the average vehicle rather than a luxury or sports vehicle

I was in the market for a new focus to replace y 03 Focus.. After watching this review I decided on a new 2017 SE sedan with the 3 cylinder 1.0L engine/auto tranny. Color is ingot silver. Has the appearance package. Averaging 29 mpg with 96% city driving in Los Angeles. Great on gas and got a great dealLove it!! AutoVlog really enjoy watching your videos!

Had a 2012 SEL 6pd dc semi-auto, I got used to it & never had any trouble with the trans or car what so ever. I will consider another lease of the 2017 Titanium model with the great deals they'll be offering. One correction though, the Focus is not an IISH top safety pick or pick plus in its class due to low performance in the small over-lap front crash test. (acceptable rating)

I got the Elantra Value Edition.  Also loaded with features and looks, but has a better engine track record along with Hyundai Assurance.  My neighbor got a Focus though and I think it is an SE.  That is the nice thing about the compact segment that we the consumers get is the tight competition today were all the brands are putting in a huge amount of things that last generation or a couple years ago would only have been found on upper midsize cars.  I always say I feel lucky to be living in what I consider a compact golden age where all the things that I've been dreaming of in my first car have actually become reality and in multiple brand selections too.

My wife and I have a 2003 Ford Focus 5 door and it's been great. Very reliable. Looking to upgrade to one of these now.

Hi Mike, I am a FoMoCo Dealer-Quality Rep. at the Michigan Assembly Plant where we build the Focus/C-Max. I wanted to say thank you very much for your honest analogy of the previous issues that were had with the 2012-15' automatic DPS6 transmissions. You summed up the many experiences and assurance that FoMoCo has corrected said issues and your channel is well informed and articulated and look forward to your future daily vids as well, take care.

Good stuff. My wife has a '12. Besides the transmission issues (which have been repaired under warranty) it's been great. Decent room, fun to drive, no other problems besides general maintenance. Just did a tune up over the weekend, and looking for another 90k miles

I have a 2017 Focus S with the manual...I've loved it so far. It's simple, and it works. That's all I ever really wanted from it.

I have a '15 ST and i love it! However, the interior rattles and creaks like no other. Would these type of annoyances be covered under warranty? Love your channel!
