DIY Herb Spiral -- clever way to grow lots of herbs in a small space

In this video, I introduce you to my new herb spiral and show you how to make your own. A herb spiral is a permaculture design that allows you to grow many different herbs, that may require different soil and light conditions, in the same small space. It's ideal for small gardens and placement near the home so that you can grow and harvest herbs on the go.

There are several factors that go into a herb spiral design, so the positioning, height, width, mulch, and building materials may be different for every garden. I explain each in detail and hope that it will help you to build a herb spiral in your garden.

We used our house as an herb spiral, with each plant on the side where it does best: chives, garlic, mint, horseradish, rhubarb, strawberries, etc. The plants are stable in their positions and never need tending, except for harvesting.

Most herbs are easy to grow and make a nice addition to an omelette or pizza for example. The herb spiral will give good drainage also. Love the new look with the lipstick also!
