"Go-fish" is classic fun for me. The feeling of knowing who wants what card and then asking them for it is really satisfying. Especially if you steal an almost completed pile, its down right evil.

Those are some great games! BS is a fun one. Also, that's a good description of Spoons, it is one of my favorites. If you want to try a game similar game to spoons, try Egyptian Ratscrew.

mao's definitely a lot of fun to play with newbies, as you arent allowed to explain the rules. you only only tell them about 3 rules,
1, no talking
2, no talking about the rules
3, you win, you make up a rule (you dont tell the new rule, everyone has to figure it out)
