Country-tinged rock and roll duo The Everly Brothers, consisting of Isaac Donald "Don" Everly and Phillip "Phil" Everly, were one of the most influential acts of the 20th century. The duo had a whopping 35 Top 100 singles, including "Cathy's Clown," "Bye Bye Love," and "Wake Up Little Susie," and were major influences on rock and roll titans like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. The Fab Four, in fact, even referred to themselves as "the British Everly Brothers." But there was darkness behind the sweet smiles, magical harmonies, and clean-cut personas. This is The Everly Brothers: The Untold Truth.

Chuck Berry said once, that I’m aware of, that nobody sang two part harmony better than the Everlys.

I was about 10 when the Everly’s became huge! Maybe 8 or 9 when I heard them on the radio! Love at first sound! They had it all! Thanks for showcasing them! Clean cut and just nice! When Phil joined Cliff Richard I knew it was magical! ❤🎉. Their harmonies touched us! 😊

The Everly Bros. were the inspiration for the Warren Zevon classic "Werewolves of London." At the time, Warren was the Everly's bandleader and Waddy Wachtel was the guitarist in that band. One of the brothers suggested that Warren write a dance song called "Do the Werewolf." Zevon mentioned the project when Waddy stopped by his hotel room and Waddy said "You mean...Awooo?" WZ answered in the affirmative and the rest is history. From being seen with a Chinese menu to the seducing of "little old ladies" to perfect hair...Lon Chaney and Lon Chaney, jr. were Phil and Don. Draw blood.

I'm a 77 year old retired lorry driver. I must admit to shedding a tear or two when first of all Warren Zevon died, then Phil Everly and finally Don. It's tough to imagine them all gone. Margaret Everly, the boys mother lived for an amazing 102 years.

“Cryin’ in the Rain” to me was always their best single. It was hard to choose with so many great songs.

I loved their music, it was smooth and dreamy . Dream- and Bye Bye Love, and all the others. It's so sad that being famous brings so many to lives of problem relationships and addictions.

I went to school with Don Jr. at SLO. I met Don Sr.. what an amazing man! Mark Draper was Jr's freshman roomate on the 1st floor of our dorm. Bobby Hatrield Jr. gave me rides home to Laguna from SLO and sometimes we would hang out in Newport Beach with his family!
