In 1975 I completed my Ph.D. in psychology. Now, at the age of 71 I feel like I am completing a degree in physics by listening to Dr. Greene (as well as other physicists) not only in these Daily Equation episodes but in all of his talks and presentations on the internet. What a thrill it is to keep on learning in new fields! And what a joy it is to listen to Brian Greene.

Dear Professor Greene,
I send my deepest condolences for your loss. Although it will provide little solace, I also feel compelled to express my appreciation for your work in sharing your knowledge and passion for physics and science with us. Your mother will be forever proud of the person she has shared with the world. Thank you. Sincerely, John

My first ever comment on an internet forum, has perhaps been reserved for a moment like this. And it is simply to send my condolences to Prof. Greene at this time. You only have one mother. I am sorry for your loss. It was only through her that the world came to know you. And it was through you, that I began to understand our world. She did a really great job.

Thank you for making the world of Physics understandable to those of us whose minds function differently and who while not comfortable with math computing still greatly appreciate its power in moving science forward.

Is a neutron star a star that just didn’t quite make it to being a black hole? Is a black hole just a star that got heavy enough that the gravity overcomes light or is it a different animal altogether? If a black hole eventually evaporates due to Hawking Radiation will it eventually lose enough mass to no longer be black?

Finally, someone tells the laymen that
Einstein's fabric of spacetime is only a two dimensional model and you have to envision this model as a three dimensional "thing".

Dear Brian Greene, I love your books and videos. You have an amazing ability to describe things that are happening in our universe and you are one of the reasons I became interested in physics again. Thank you!

Dear Professor Greene.
How does light behave when its going through the dark matter? Is dark matter affected by gravity?

Before the end of the series, would you please mention few of the best (in your opinion) non-specialistic books on modern/contemporary physics? Perhaps books covering a large spectrum of opinions, ranging from your excellent books to books by authors who have different views. Thanks a lot!

let's we just imagine that string theory is really true, i mean it's exist as a particle (2d particle) that made up a creature's body for being able to live in 4d universe of space
