A reminder that the people who said the Dravidian light cav trades into halberdiers are playing in your ranked team games

Happy to hear that Spirit of the law has decided to try to embiggen his vocabulary

0:58 - Seeing Furious the Monkey Boy die with one strike makes me confused a lot.

You forget Teuton scouts get conversion resistance as an additional benefit against monks.

Good video! I think the Teuton scout should be ranked a little higher against monks though, considering he has extra conversion resistance.

A cavalry that gets taken out in 10 shots by an arbalester and 25 by a skirmisher seems basically unusable in the late game.

I feel like what a lot of people didn't get is that the previous video wasn't about the worst scout line, but about the worst stable. Dravidian Light Cav might be decent or good in some situations, but it's not enough to carry the lack of knights, camels and their terrible 0 upgrade elephants

"You either die a Teuton Scout or live long enough to see yourself become the Korean Hussar"

-Malian Light cav, probably

Spirit you forgot it’s next to impossible to convert a Teuton scout. Not only does it have an inmate conversion resistance, but it gets MORE of it from the civ/team bonus and since, if my memory serves me right, Teutons have access to the faith tech making them the best civ to counter monk civs. I think that should put them above Dravidians since there’s nothing worse than having your units stolen right from under you.

After seeing all the tests and numbers, I don't think anyone wootz disagree with dravidians's light cavalry being awful now

I always find it funny that Teuton scout can 1v1 Byzantine hussar with 10 hp left despite having a lot cheaper upgrades

I think this is pretty generous to the Dravidian light cav compared to Teuton scouts. Tankiness is more important than damage for the scout line. If we did some mixed testing with arbs/handcannons/skirms behind them, I think we'd see the Dravidian light cav struggle even more compared to Teuton scouts or Korean hussar.

Also, in practice their best matchup into boyars and teutonic knights is undermined by the fact that all your other melee units already perform well into them with Wootz Steel - due to that, you probably won't face them, and even if you did, you don't need light cav to beat them!

To be fair, if the enemy is using teutonic knights and you throw light cav at them instead of arbalester, idk what you're thinking

It is interesting that you made this video because I was one of the guys saying that Dravidian light cav can situationally be decent.

In my opinion people focus too much on performance on a vacuum. Wootz steel is situational obviously which compromises a bias that when you need it ITS REALLY GOOD so people forget that the worst part of Dravidians as seen in this tests it's their ability to stick around. Even if they can trade off better against cavaliers for example, under castle fire and 10 skirmishers in the back they are cook. Even if they could potentially push or worse they are the only push you got you are gonna bleed resources HARD. Imo Koreans are still better because they can keep themselves on the field longer while barely fulfilling the role they are supposed to do. The presure of their continued presence it's probably more impactful than sheer stats.

Teutons really are a reliable force once you get them up and running.

Love how Spirit just casually destroyed the idea that Dravidian light cav do well against halb.
