why my adapter always null ? i alredy called the object but the field mark never assign

I have a recyclerview inside a fragment, but when i add the oncreateoptionsmenu outside of onCreateviewclass just the inflate function works, the searchview query text never turns on, i debugg multiple times and the query never runs, i spend a lot of days and hours to solve this and i not see the problem. how the adpater ever update the recyclerview in oncreatview method i guess that query need to be inside the method right ? or not ?

How can we collapse the search bar when we scroll up and down. Meaning when we scroll down then search bar should disappear and go up then it should appear... can you please help me 🙏
