I've had Michelin X-ice, toyo observe gs 5, Blizzaks and currently running on Nokian Hakkas R3. From my subjective experience, the Toyos had the best longitudinal traction in packed and deep snow, Blizzaks and Nokian had the best lateral traction while Michelin were the best all around including noise and comfort although not as good in deeper snow

Live ran Yokohama ice gaurds on my civic for 5 years and they were amazing tires and made the civic feel very confidence inspiring in the winter. Just traded the civic in for an awd wrx amd purchased a set of Blizzak ws90's

Studded winter tires are the best. Especially for icy surfaces.

The yokohama tire brand is great but the winter tire of theirs scored low, try Nokian or Toyo and Cooper
