I have my own mobile DJ business and I'm looking at getting some new speakers soon. I'm debating on the ELX112p or the ELX115P. I mostly do proms, weddings, and homecomings and I do plan to get additional subs. I've read that 12" speakers have better high frequencies and additional subs can help deliver the lower frequencies while 15" speakers deliver better lows but aren't very goo for high frequencies. I did try rent two QSC K12 speakers and I fell in love with them but I don't have that much money and I think that they're a bit overpriced for the specs.

Do I max the input and the loudspeaker level on these to obtain max spl output without damaging the speaker?  I just received a pair of these and I set the input at max and the loudspeaker at 12 o'clock but these do not produce the desired output.

@DJCalienteNYC cant you just raise the bass on your mixer?...and then just put the speaker on a high volume..but not high to the point that it'l blow?

Hey Guys,
I need some help . I have this speaker and it shuts off on me after about 20 min of play time . I would have to turn it off and on to reset it but it does the same thing ....I do not see the clip light coming on at all. I have the volume at about 11:00 o clock. Please give some suggestions as to what could be causing this problem. Thanks, Gordon.

I checked out the EV Elx 115p and i didnt like the sound. They do sound flat. The JBL Prx 615M are alittle more in price but a better buy. The Jbls sound warmer. They Have DBX & DSP processing while the EV's are just raw sound. Between the The EV's, QSC K12 and the JBL PRX 615.. Go with the JBL Prx speakers. They sound warm and you will feel the bass more because its 135 db max. The Evs.. No way.
