The Beer Distribution Game was developed at MIT in the 1950s to illustrate how difficult it is to manage dynamic systems, such as supply chains.

In this case, the system you manage is a supply chain that delivers beer from a brewery all the way to the end consumers.

Thanks to the COVID pandemic and the current political situation, we have all become aware of how fragile supply chains are – so in many ways the Beer Distribution Game is more relevant than ever.

But the Beer Distribution Game is much more than just a supply chain simulation – it provides many insights about the difficulty of managing complex systems and making data-driven decisions in stressful, unclear situations.

In this meetup we will play the game together in a group, using an online version of the game that can be accessed anonymously via a browser.

Our facilitator for this event will be Dr. Oliver Grasl, CEO of transentis.

Oliver is an expert in enterprise transformation. He uses the Beer Game to help his clients build their systems thinking skills and develop a “transformation mindset”.
