Today I will be upgrading the Lenovo Tower PC which has an Intel i3 second gen CPU a one stick of 4GB of DDR3 Ram and 500GB HDD.
In this educational video, I will need to clean it up from all the dust that has accumulated over the years before I start to upgrade it.
I will upgrade the RAM from 4GB to 8GB DDR3.
I will replace and upgrade the Intel i3 with an i7 2600 CPU.
I will add a budget GPU from Zotac Synergy the Nvidia GeForce GT 520 1GB DDR3.
I will leave the 500GB HDD for documents and media, and I will add a 120GB SSD for the System.
And install the Windows 10 Pro operating system on it.
I will install the necessary apps with Ninite and the missing drivers with SDIO or Snappy Driver Installer Origin.
Everything works great and the PC is a lot faster.
Thanks for watching and have an awesome day.

Well, this is a socket 1155 mobo meaning that any i7 socket 1155 will work including Xeon in this puter. No Brag, Just Fact!! I have built 20 plus in the last 15 months. I still use Windows 7 64 bit and all Lenovo . Install setup tag and the Lenovo update tag and then click the update tag and it will I D your board and show you any updates incl bios. Right now 12 cats and 5 lenovo. Always learning. Most I like Xeon CPU's Exception is the i7 4771 socket 1150 and the K but it is too pricey.

more info on this. I have learned that mobo's with 24 pin PS socket will not let windows 7 and older be loaded. Gotta go to E73 or any 14 pin PS motherboard. Don't know why this is the case. The Dell's are a whole different critter and will accept Win 7

Did you disconnect the DVD drive, I added an ssd and graphics card keeping the stock HDD then found it struggled with the 180W PSU so i disconnected the DVD in an attempt to lessen the load.
