When I was growing up, my father worked in our local hospital for nearly 10 years, and it was such an interesting place when I would visit him. I recently decided to make the transition to HIT after working in your typical tech companies for some time. It's definitely a change of pace, but I feel like I'm doing more for people than I was working for a company who sold a product.

This is great information, I have a question, how could we improve rural areas' access to healthcare services using mobile technology such as mobile phones, laptops, or iPad, when their main problem is having poor broadband internet and digital literacy? Thanks

I have worked in patient services (not patient care). I want to move into IT/Cyber sec. any tips I’ve been watching the 90 day career change video! Thank you! I am also getting my masters of healthcare admin. Not sure if I should keep that path or if it’s beneficial to this IT field also

I've been examining the compat. of this work with my aptitudes. The fit is there. The caveat with MRT/HIM work involves the threats of HCPs outsourcing and offshoring the work. B/f I researched the topic today, I'd assuaged myself with the likelihood that PHI couldn't legally be offshored. Now I've read that HCPs have done so unabated for years. Where's the incentive to train for what's shipped off?

I have 15 years in healthcare claims and compTIA A+ certified. Do you think I could get into HIT with that experience?
