Peaking in highschool is so sad. 4 years is nothing compared to the decades you’ll spend in adulthood. I’m in my senior year of highschool and HS has been absolutely terrible, but I’m just trying to hold out.

I’ve worked in a dirty amazon warehouse where people lose their foot. I’ve watched a woman get overworked and faint. A girl in her early twenties had heart failure and we had a stand up for when she died. I wake up in my car on the sidewalk bc i fell asleep driving. Again. The 3rd time. I go home and i’m surrounded by trash and my whole body hurts too much to wash.

But every day i get older, dirtier, and weaker, i’m living in heaven. Every single day i’m less like myself from high school is a blessing.

I have autism. I was bullied. My coworkers are kind. Enough said.

I remember seeing guys in their early 20s going to my football games and they thought they were so cool wearing their old leather men jacket and everything. I'm proud to say, I never went to any highschool games after I graduated, because I'm too busy 👍

I always looked at moments like this from this perspective. There is nothing wrong with going to things like this and reminiscing about it. For many people like this, it was a highlight of that time period for them. Many of us have had an equivalent experience.

That said, a better response from him would have been, "I hope they soak in this moment, because once it's gone...it's gone". That way, you have accepted that you had your proverbial moment in the spotlight and now someone else is having theirs.

When children realize high school don’t mean shit after u leave it. lmao. u wasn’t shit then and aren’t now it was masked people trying to get by and figure out who they really are. Funny, I knew a kid who was one of the most popular kids in high school, when I was like 23 he desperately wanted to be apart of my friend group & was reduced to “average” in the real world. His once intimidating aura had wore off & he was just another tag-along in the group.

Fr my 26 year old cousin only talk about his high school diplomas and trophies but he doesnt have one single new achievement and its kinda sad that he is know as the highschool graduate that works 9-5 while his little brother is the middleschool dropout millionaire.
